Fit for E-Commerce (Leonardo da Vinci II: 2001 - 2004)

E-commerce is a continuously growing field of work and offers a high potential of employment in the near future. Job seekers and employees with commercial knowledge who have been well trained in the field of e-commerce have improved opportunities in the labour market. E- commerce thus has gained in importance in the field of education and (continuing) training. The "New-Business-Training-Programme for Disadvantaged" develops innovative methods, materials and concepts for trainees and trainers and therefore improves opportunities for educationally disadvantaged in the labour market.

This international project developed training materials, an educational module, a transnational virtual practice firm, a handbook for trainers, two homepages and an European certificate. The target groups were unemployed and employees in commercial fields who want to obtain knowledge as well as teachers and lecturers who teach in this new field.

Under the direction of Vocational Training Institute Vienna and its training firms various partners (educational institutions, universities, middle and small sized companies) from Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania collaborate in this pilot-project.

The projects funded by Leonardo da Vinci have been carried out with the support of the European Community. The content of this project does not necessarily reflect the position of the European Community, nor does it involve any responsibility on the part of the European Community.
